After reading, write a 3-2-1 list: 3 things you learned, 2 questions you still have, and 1 thing you really enjoyed. Then go online to hunt for answers to your 2 questions. Upload your list to FreshGrade.

Each week we are going to learn about a new type of poem. Complete each daily task so that you are ready to create the best possible poem that you can at the end of the week.

THIS WEEK'S POEM: Cinquain.

A cinquain is a five-line poem ("cinq" meaning "'five" in French) that describes a subject. There are two ways to write cinquain. The second is based on the amount of words in each line. Read the example below.



After reading the example cinquains, answer the questions below. You can print out the page and fill it in, save a copy of it and edit it with your answers, or write your responses on a separate piece of paper. When finished, upload your answers to FreshGrade. If you require further clarification, be sure to check out the "Daily Reading and Writing Tasks" video for today found on the Teams channel.

THIS WEEK'S POEM: Cinquain.

The first is based on the amount of syllables in each line. A syllable is a part of a word that contains a single vowel sound. For example, the word "water" has two syllables, "wa and "ter". Read the example cinquains below.

Today, you will create a good copy of your poem. You will need to color and add illustrations. Try to include drawings of things related to the theme of your poem or details about you. See the example below. Upload your poem to FreshGrade by Monday evening.
